Let’s turn this around

Phil Banker

Visiting the Ennis Lions Club is easily the highlight of my workweek. It’s fun to hobnob with city and school officials, business owners and other members of Ennis’s nobility and landed gentry. I get a free meal, a space-filling photo, leads on stories and free entertainment courtesy of Alan Clark’s acerbic wit and Walter Beasley’s infectious laughter.

Here recently, however, I get treated to an experience I haven’t had since middle school: public excoriation!
