Letter to the Editor

To the editor:
Kudos to staff at ERMC for my care. I was a recent patient at Ennis Regional Medical Center (ERMC) for a total knee replacement. I would have to say that the care I received from the surgical department to Med/Surg to Ennis Care Center and ultimately back to ERMC Rehab department has been top notch. The surgical team at ERMC is second to none! They are compassionate, caring, professional and extremely knowledgeable. They made sure that I understood all of the expectations prior to coming in and they kept my family updated while I was in surgery. Dr. Robert Roye was my surgeon. He did an incredible job on my knee. I had the other knee done several years ago by a different surgeon at a different hospital and I can tell you the outcome was significantly different than this knee. I went to Med/Surg for several days after surgery. I had exceptional care provided by the compassionate and knowledgeable nursing staff from the different shifts. They treated me like I was their family member and explained things where I could understand them. Upon discharge from ERMC I went to Ennis Care Center (ECC) where I stayed a few weeks. The rehab offered to me by their therapist on a regular basis was wonderful along with the consistent care by their staff. I left there with full functional range of motion. The staff at ECC are hard working and take pride in their jobs. Once released from ECC I am now completing PT therapy three days a week at ERMC. The staff was amazed at my mobility and is helping me with stamina and strength. The staff is very caring and attentive to my needs. I would highly recommend Ennis Regional Medical Center, Dr. Roye and Ennis Care Center for your future healthcare needs.
