Lighting up the Ennis nights

Lit up like a Christmas tree, downtown Ennis was splendid and alluring the entire holiday season. Holiday statements and symbols were illuminated, windows were painted by Ben Vyers of Monster Splash Art and Minnie McDowal Park never looked so brilliant. Holly hanging from the gazebo with ornaments and ribbons were only outdone by the nightly flurries of snow-like flakes coming from above. Children loved it, though the substance was hardly capable of rounding into a snowball. Thank you ERMC for sponsoring that element of the season.
Window displays were incredibly well done. Some were designed by Ennis High School students while others were created by store owners or their staff. Whoever came up with the Elf on a Shelf idea, where participating buildings downtown hid a colorful fairy amid their window décor, well, kudos to you. Great notion and it’s been a hit for kids and adults trying to locate them in a contest. Read this story and more in your Weekday edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
