If you listened to the rumors that have circulated through town since the night of May 11, this past week’s decision for the Ennis Independent School District to part ways with Superintendent Barbara Qualls was inevitable.

I didn’t take journalistic stock in any of it until I viewed the official agenda for Tuesday’s special meeting of the EISD Board of Trustees in which a VSA (voluntary separation agreement) was identified. Finally, something that many of us expected since Trustee Julie Pierce was elected to the board on May 11 was complete.
