Play it smart, avoid fraud at tax time

We all understand the urge to save an extra buck or two, especially when tax time comes around each year.

Don’t be fooled. Tax fraud is the wrong way to go about it.

When we heard word of allegations against a local tax preparer that included classic no-no’s like adding fictitious dependents to filers’ returns, we were almost too incredulous to believe what we were being told.
