Road money issue won’t end soon

The discussion over redistricting in Ellis County has begun to take an identifiable shape with the introduction of several possible boundary models for the county’s individual precincts.

Part of the discussion that has been a consistent point of concern for eastern Ellis County has been the equitable dispersal of road funding. Precinct 2, for example, has the most miles of road and receives the least funding under the existing model because it also has the lowest population. That is an issue that Precinct 2 Commissioner Bill Dodson hoped to try to alleviate with the effort to redraw the lines, and we maintain our stance that making road funding equitable should be a part of the process.
