Showing pride in veterans park

The destruction of what many local veterans and their families consider sacred ground by vandals has caused much concern in the community. That a vandal or vandals chose to strike at the heart of this city’s veterans is unconscionable. Many have speculated that it was a band of thoughtless kids who struck the Ennis Veterans Memorial Park over the Veterans Day holiday. But, as some have rightly pointed out, the culprits may well have been some disorderly adult or adults. The point is a important part of the memorial site was damaged and with it the hearts of many who fought for and served this country in bloody wars.
