Speaking the real truth

Tre Bischof

I don’t envy anyone who works at the Ennis Independent School District. In my 10 years in this business, I’ve never witnessed an entity dealing with so much strife in such a short period of time.

They’ve had a teacher suffer an aneurysm, a star football player arrested, other football players dismissed from the team, a former teacher charged with solicitation of a dozen children and, the most notable, a tuberculosis scare. Let’s not forget the less than stellar state testing results reported last month at Ennis High School.

With that panic comes attention and with that attention comes the never-ending battle to relay proper information to the public. This is never an easy task and when it’s not good news everyone’s got an opinion. Unfortunately, many of those opinions are communicated either verbally or electronically as fact. The problem with that is people hear or read things and believe it.
