We all need emotional support

Over the past week we have learned about airline travel and passengers who were denied the company of a pet whom they attempted to bring aboard the cabin. One of them was an adult peacock that apparently had its own seat paid for, while the other was a dwarf hamster. Each were disallowed to go airborne with their human partner by United and Spirit Airlines, both citing rules that, cruel to some, made sense to others. The would be travelers were attempting to become a globetrotter under the guise of providing emotional support. One was majestic and colorful, the other – Pebbles, was harmless and furry. As is often the case, lawyers, PETA and sad-eyed sympathizers everywhere have come to the defense of the commuter. Airlines, naturally, have to draw the line somewhere, less other patrons come with pigs, snakes, a de-skunked skunk, ferrets, spiders, Great Danes, goats or animals with husks or hooves.
