HSR media coverage misses the mark

The media coverage of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality meeting last week in Waxahachie left a great deal to be desired. The purpose of the meeting was to gather input from the public on their thoughts regarding how the proposed high speed rail project would affect the people of Ellis County, especially our water quality. About 13 attendees made formal presentations as to how a rail running through their property would be destructive and detrimental to their lives, along with many questions that were asked before the formal presentations. All who spoke of asked questions were opposed to the project in general, and especially the negative effects that would occur to the environment and to water quality. None of the questions were answered to the satisfaction of the people concerned, and much of the destruction taht would occur will not be mediated.
