EPT’s newest production a whimsical ride

The Ennis Public Theatre K.I.D.S. (Kids in Dramatic Studies) have been busy rehearsing for their upcoming performances. Their rendition of John Glore’s “The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales,” based on the book of the same title by Jon Scieszka, opens this weekend. The comedic musical compiles several fairy tales and adds ridiculous twists to them, making for an hour full of familiar story lines and hilarious witticism. With jokes for every age group, the piece creates a casual, friendly environment for a diverse audience and allows everyone to reminisce on classic fantasies. I had the pleasure of sitting in on one of their first complete run-through and was thoroughly impressed with the cast’s talent, the adorable choreography and the intelligent direction.
