Grow a fragrant garden with honeysuckle

There are over 180 species of honeysuckle including vines and shrubs. Chances are you have some or admire them in others’ gardens. My mom has had them since I was a child and many are the memories I have of summers spent playing in the backyard, surrounded by fluffy bushes of honeysuckle which my sisters and I sometimes used to pick and taste the honey that dripped from the blossoms. Honeysuckle vines, with their showy, fragrant flowers, are much appreciated by hummingbirds and butterflies. They also attract birds. The vines very quickly cover a trellis or fence so you won’t have to wait long for them to grow to a good size. Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News.
