Growing jasmine: A quick guide to planting

The reason I began to love gardening – at least the lazy, mainly armchair kind that I excel in – is because of the wonderfully scented jasmine that grew outside my room as a teenager. Mom adored it, along with roses, honeysuckle and other aromatic plants and flowers, and she still does love them all. In fact the jasmine of my youth still grows outside the window where my bedroom once was. There are many types of jasmine and they all make a visually stunning addition to any garden. They grow in clusters, attracting bees and butterflies from spring to fall. These plants are hardy in zones 6 to 10, depending on the kind you have. You can choose from among many species of jasmine for your yard, and I know you’ll find one that will not only suit your home, but will provide sweet memories for you and your family in years to come.
