Knock out roses: Beautiful, easy

If you haven’t considered knock out roses, you really should. Some people are wary of roses, thinking they are difficult to care for. Not so with all types. And it certainly isn’t true of the knock out variety. Not only are they easy to grow and maintain, there are great advantages to having a knock out rose bush in your yard or garden. They bloom continuous all season long, or will in most cases, they’re more winter-hardy than other roses and they don’t need as many pesticides. Megan Muchacho, who writes for gardenden.com and other blogs and magazines, describes the knock out rose as a shrub that produces single, 3-inch wide blooms per branch. “Blooms are dark pink to red in color,” she says. “Newer varieties have been produced that have other shades of pink flowers. The Rainbow Knock Out rose features yellow flower bases and blush pink petals. The Double Knock Out Rose has two times the amount of petals per each bloom.” Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
