52nd annual Polkafest highlights Czech heritage

The SPJST entered a float themed after the ‘Trolls’ movie that was popular in 2017. The Polka King and Queen Dance, pictured here from 2017, is a staple of the National Polka Festival. It will take place Friday night. Locals and visitors alike are gearing up for the 52nd Annual National Polka Festival this weekend. Many each year descend upon Ennis for the event that celebrates and spotlights Czech heritage and the culture and is sure to have something for family members of all ages. Some of the featured events include a parade downtown a king and queen dance contest, unique arts and crafts, a Polkafest 10K, 5K and Fun Run, authentic Czech food, a Kolache eating contest, and so much more.
