Announcement likely on Nov. 13

EISD school board members Board of Trustees extended the time needed in naming a lone finalist as the next superintendent when they scheduled another meeting to clarify their choice. The Board of Trustees, along with Lloyd Treadwell, the interim head of schools, and a representative from a search team, rather than announce a selection after last Tuesday’s planned meeting, scheduled an additional dialogue for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. Tuesday’s talk about personnel matters, primarily related to EISD chief, regarded the three remaining candidates to succeed Dr. John Chapman as the superintendent of the Ennis Independent School District. Chapman began as the new supt. at Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD this fall after being offered the position in early June. He served admirably in Ennis for 4.5 years.
