Local Lions give gift of summer camp

Thanks to the Lions Clubs of Texas and the members of the Ennis Noon Lions Club, many children with physical disabilities look forward to an experience that all children dream about – going to summer camp.
The Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville offers special camping programs that serve children who have physical disabilities and type 1 diabetes.
This summer, Brendon Harrison of Ennis attended the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville; he was sponsored by Ben Fry of the Ennis Host Lions Club. Wallace Roberts of the Ennis Host Lions Club hosted Alexie Rendon of Ennis and Ashley Rowlett and Xavier Rowlett of Ennis got to go to camp because of the generosity of Jerry Smith. Brian Clark sponsored Ty Clark of Ennis.

The camp offers a wide variety of activities for camper’s enjoyment, including arts and crafts, field sports, riding horses, swimming, theater and camping out overnight. The camp is a nonprofit organization, funded by the Lions of Texas and private donations. Children attend the camp at no cost to themselves or their families.
