Accident sends one to hospital

An attempt yesterday morning to avoid hitting a dog ended with Janice Berry Bower being transported to a hospital in Navarro County.
After swerving into a ditch, her car went airborne coming to rest facing north in the ditch on the southbound side of the 1800 block of Oak Grove Road. Bower, 58, of Corsicana told Ennis police when her white Toyota Camry went into the ditch, she heard a loud pop, which Officer Sid Lopez said was most likely her tire blowing out. Bower then hit the culvert, which sent the vehicle flying finally coming to rest with the airbags deployed. Those at the scene said her injuries were not life threatening and were likely caused by the airbag.
No one knew how the dog fared.
