Teens facing drug charges

Two teens are in jail after police discovered marijuana in their possession.
According to Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, Officers Julia Pillow, Brad Sherrard and Sgt. Fred Pontley responded to a “suspicious vehicle” call behind Super 1 Foods. Police searched the vehicle, which had multiple occupants, and found a plastic bag containing marijuana.
Police asked the driver to exit the vehicle and empty her purse and during the search, a glass “marijuana pipe” with marijuana in it was discovered. A teen identifying himself as the young woman’s boyfriend claimed the pipe was his. A pat down of the suspect revealed he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket.
Two men were taken into custody for the drugs and drug paraphernalia found. They were both transported to Ennis police department without further incident.
Steve Dlabaj, 17, of Ennis was charged with possession of marijuana less than two ounces. Jonathan Saunders, 19, of Ennis was charged with possession of marijuana less than two ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia.
