Ennis man facing assault charges

A 42-year-old Ennis man is in jail on a theft warrant with assault charges pending.
According to the police report, Officer Kevin Tuley was dispatched to 2303 W. Ennis Ave. in reference to an assault. Tuley spoke with the complainant, who stated she and her boyfriend got into a fight at which time the suspect began to curse at her and hit her in the face. The complainant said her boyfriend then took the keys to the car and drove away.
Tuley and Officer Kevin King subsequently made contact with the suspect, who it was confirmed had an outstanding warrant out of Ellis County Sheriff’s Office for a previous theft pending against him. The warrant was confirmed with Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and the officers placed the suspect under arrest.
Rudoph Carrillo, 42, of Ennis was charged with the outstanding theft warrant while the officers await a pending warrant to be issued for the assault.

Minor caught with alcohol

Two Kaufman men were arrested Thursday night after police received a report of a theft of beer.
Det. Lt. Ron Roark said at 10:06 p.m. Officer Kevin King was dispatched to 101 E. Ennis Ave. in reference to a Hispanic male taking a 12-pack of beer from the business without paying. A description of the vehicle was given and King was able to locate the vehicle about 15 minutes later.
Roark said King stopped the vehicle and observed two occupants inside. When asked for identification the driver told King he had no driver’s license with him. An identification check confirmed the passenger was wanted for a previous hit and run accident.
King reported a search of the vehicle resulted in the beers taken from the store being found in a cooler. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to Ennis police department without further incident.
Jacob Yvon, 18, of Kaufman was charged with driving with no driver’s license and minor in possession of alcohol. Freddy Perez, 25, of Kaufman was charged with an out of town warrant.
