Thanks for your favorite recipes

With Turkey Day behind us and Christmas right around the corner, now is a great time to try out some new recipes and forget about those pesky diets so many of us seem to struggle with all year long.
With that thought in mind, the Ennis Daily News published our Holiday Recipe Guide last week and we want to thank all of the local folks who submitted recipes for publication.
Sharing recipes among friends is a long-standing tradition and that is the inspiration for our Recipe Guide. It wouldn’t be possible without the generous submissions of people in our community. Every recipe we received was unique and looked delicious and even though we haven’t had the chance to try them all, we’ll be working on that in the days and months to come.
When we put out the call to submit recipes to be published in the guide, we weren’t sure what kind of response we would get. We were thrilled to see that so many great local cooks were all too happy to share their secrets with our readers.
We received everything from creative salads and hearty main dishes to truly mouth-watering desserts. As usual, the people of this community stepped up and generously offered their best and our dinner tables will be better for it.
We would also like to thank the many advertisers who supported this special section. Without them, it would not have been possible and we hope our readers will make it a point to thank them in person the next time they’re shopping for the goods and services they provide.
Thanks again to all the people who submitted recipes for our Holiday Recipe Guide.
The dishes can be enjoyed year round and we look forward to eating our way through the whole list. In fact, that just might be a New Year’s resolution we can keep.
