Police apprehend bicycle flasher

A 17-year-old Ennis man admitted to making a mistake after flashing a woman Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of Yorkstown Drive.
Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson said at 10:29 a.m. Ennis police officers were dispatched to the scene regarding a subject exposing his genitals to women in the area.
Witnesses gave a description of the suspect and reported seeing the man initially riding by on a bicycle and asking a woman if she “wanted to do something.” According to Hopson the suspect then returned on foot and again asked the same woman if she wanted to do something. The woman stated the man’s penis was exposed and being held in his hand.
Hopson said the suspect subsequently took off running on foot and was able to escape capture despite a witness searching for him in a vehicle.
A city employee contacted the police department and advised he found a man matching the description of the suspect.
Police were able to locate the suspect and during questioning the man said “he had made a mistake.”
Ramon Ornelas, 17, of Ennis was charged with indecent exposure.
