Ennis ISD on fast track to greatness

Ennis is moving on up.
As Ennis ISD Communications Director Henry Martinez has outlined in his assessment of the industrial, healthcare and educational appeal of today’s Ennis, we have much to pride ourselves on as a progressive community.
Ennis’ growth is seen in many areas of local life but nowhere is the fact more clear than in the work being accomplished to complete the new Ennis High and Ennis Junior High schools.
There will not only be better-equipped classrooms in the new EHS building but top-notch amenities like a college-style lecture hall for high-tech presentations and community meetings: even a big auditorium where EHS’ Black Box Theatre will find an ideal outlet.
The EJHS of tomorrow will also impress; one modern aspect impossible in the old 1917 facility is a geothermal cooling and heating system that offers a 21st century solution to energy and pollution problems.
The Ennis Daily News is proud of improvements being made materially in EISD –– and in the example of personal commitment to the best path for quality education which the district has secured in Superintendent Dr. Eddie Dunn as well as in Henry Martinez.
These men and the faculty and students they serve seem handpicked for a new era of educational greatness that has already begun in Ennis, and will find ultimate aesthetic and technological expression in the beautiful new campuses set for completion in August 2008.
