Polka Festival vendors lining up at Chamber
Last year’s rainy reception hasn’t deterred participants
Memorial Day weekend is just around the Czech corner, and with it Ennis’ 42nd Annual National Polka Festival.
For the general public the fest means fun and excitement. For merchants it means exposure and sales.
Jeannette Patak, president of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce, said spaces for vendor booths for the event are already filling up.
“But we still have plenty of space available for anyone interested in participating,” she said. “Spaces are sold in a 10×10 square for $90, with the option of purchasing more than one space in a row. The price does go up after May 1 to $100 a space, and there are extra costs if you are selling food items.”
Patak said Chamber staff can also help business owners take advantage of a number of opportunities for Polka Festival sponsorships.
“If you are interested in participating in this nationwide event as either a vendor or sponsor,” Patak said, “please contact the Chamber today at 972-878-2625. “
The National Polka Festival was founded in Ennis in 1966.
The Chamber of Commerce also observes a milestone this year. Established in 1918, the organization celebrates its 90th year in operation in 2008.
