Citizens appeal to P&Z Board

Material exceptions requested by property owners tonight
A duo of homeowners is requesting exceptions to material requirements for storage buildings that will be decided by the Planning and Zoning Commission tonight.
The first request is from Betty Zhanel, who is asking for an alternative material to be allowed on a proposed detached storage shed. Zhanel’s request is for a tract of land located at 605 Arleta Drive.
The other request is from Robert Ray and Vernon Johnson. The request is also to allow alternative material on a proposed detached storage shed on a tract of land located at 603 W. Baylor St.
In other business, the Commission will consider two annexations of nearly 525 acres. The first annexation is of 495.8 acres in part of the C.S. Holmead Survey, the A. Steele Survey, the H.L. Rankin Survey and the W.H. Ewing Survey and is located on the east side of S. I-45, south of FM 3413 to the Hwy. 287 Bypass.
The second annexation is of 28.27 acres in part of the C.S. Holmead Survey. The land is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of S. I-45 and the Hwy. 287 Bypass.
The city of Ennis is requesting and representing both annexations.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 7:15 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall.
The meeting is open to the public.
