Boys & Girls Club to celebrate 10th anniversary

Children’s center to host annual Steak and Burger fundraiser
Staff and members of the Boys and Girls Club of Ennis are gearing up for their 10th anniversary celebration.
The club will hold its annual Steak and Burger fund-raiser on June 5 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Outback Steakhouse restaurant representatives in charge of cooking the food. The center’s staff and administration have great expectations for the event which they hope will raise enough money to pay off the building fund of $127,000. Director of Operations Sandra Porch isn’t worried because she has seen what the community is capable of.
“We usually raise upwards of $70,000 at this fund-raiser so hoping for a little extra isn’t out of the question,” she said. “I have seen the generosity that the community has firsthand and I know it can be done.”
Porch expects to be sending a mail-out soon to people reminding them of the date of the event and letting them know where tickets can be purchased.
Tickets will be available for $50 for individuals, and sponsorship levels will begin at $600 per table. Businesses and groups can contact Porch at the Boys and Girls Club for more information about helping to sponsor the event.
