Three-car wreck on Hwy 287

Police and firefighters responding to a three-vehicle accident Thursday on Ensign Road and US Highway 287 had their hands full caring for the injured, while fighting off swarms of honey bees at the same time.
Emergency workers met a chaotic scene, but none of the drivers or passengers involved in the accident faced life-threatening injuries. Police report that Harry Millerd of Fort Worth apparently ran a red light at the intersection, hitting a truck driven by Mary Thomas of Ennis, which then landed on top of a white Crown Victoria driven by Eric Hopkins.
