Learning, fun found at library

The Ennis Public Library has seen its fair share of milestones. With successful programs for children and families alike, more and more people have come through the doors to take advantage of the host of services the library offers.
This week as National Library Week (April 13-19) is observed throughout the country, library employee and Children’s Services Director Jessica Diaz said she’s hoping more people come to see what the library has to offer.
"We do a lot of different activities that target each age group so that there is a little something for everyone," Diaz said. "The library experience has changed over the years and we have changed with it to accommodate the needs of the community. We offer everything from books to do research with as well as audio books and movies for families to watch. We are proud of the things we can offer and we hope the community takes full advantage of what is right here in their own backyard."
One service the library provides that could prove beneficial during the slow economy is free computer access for library cardholders. Patrons can use the library’s resources to search for jobs and send resumes online if they do not have Internet access at home. The service could be a much-needed avenue for job seekers who are trying to keep on top of their job searches.
