Get rested, ready for Relay

Relay for Life is coming up, and we at the Ennis Daily News are really looking forward to this year’s event. It is always a night of fun seeing the teams work together to raise money for cancer.
This event takes a lot of planning to pull off, and we want to let the organizers know that we are proud of their hard work. We also appreciate every team that has helped raise money for the event.
There is a lot of hype associated with Relay for Life, and with good reason. Relay for Life raises a large portion of the money that goes to the American Cancer Society. Cancer affects everyone in some way or another, and research funding is crucial if we are to cure this horrible disease.
If you aren’t part of a Relay for Life team, we encourage you to support the Relay for Life teams around town. We are all part of this community and deserve help from each other. Plus, the various Relay for Life fund-raisers are pretty cool. There are fund-raisers of all kinds, ranging from raffles to bake sales. You can not only help a good cause, but also acquire something pretty neat. So do a little research and find a fund-raiser you’d like to help out.
There are many reasons to come to Relay for Life this Friday night. Of course, the main reason is to help out the cause of cancer research, but there will also be many events throughout the night. There will be live music and fun activities during the event.
So much hard work has gone into Relay for Life. The teams are all hoping to reach their fund-raising goals. If they can do this, they are helping Relay for Life reach the ultimate goal: which is to find a cure for cancer. That is what we are all trying to do each year with this event.
So stock up on sleep this week, because Friday night at 6 p.m., it will be time to “Relay Up!”
