Support Relay for Life tonight

Tonight is the night. It’s been steadily approaching. The planning committees have done everything they can to make things run smoothly. The team captains have made sure their groups have everything in place to raise the most money. It’s now time to get your walking shoes on and “Relay Up!”
The 12-hour Ennis Relay for Life begins its evening of fun at 6 p.m. at the Texas Motorplex. While there will be bands playing throughout the night, music selected from Relay members in honor of loved ones who have had cancer, food sold from different teams and events like “Mr. Relay” and tug-of-war going on, don’t forget what the true meaning of Relay for Life is all about. We are there to honor those who have passed away due to cancer and celebrate the ones who have survived the wretched disease. Hopefully this year’s event helps in the fight against cancer by raising the most money it ever has before.
Countless hours of preparation and numerous ideas have been bounced around to make this year’s event more special than in the past. Moving to a new facility hasn’t made things any easier on the Relay planners either.
Even if you haven’t joined a team, you can still come support the event by watching the survivor lap or luminaria lighting portion, purchasing bake sale items or raffle tickets to help raise money, or just stop by late at night to help keep friends awake.
Whatever your excuse for being there, remember to “Relay Up!”
