Man charged with assault

Man who punches himself arrested for attacking wife
A 25-year-old Ennis man is in the Ennis jail for allegedly choking and pushing his wife Thursday afternoon.
According to the police report, at 5:20 p.m. Officer David Dodd was dispatched to 804 S. Hall St. in reference to an assault. While en route, Dodd was advised that the suspect had left the residence and was headed northbound on foot toward Lampasas Street. Dodd approached the intersection of Lampasas and Hall streets, observing a white male, later identified as Eric Rasco, walking in the area.
Dodd reported noting Rasco was sweating at the time and was obviously upset. The man also had red marks on his face and arms, a bite mark on the inside of his right arm and swelling above his right eyebrow. Rasco told Dodd he and his wife had been in a fight and that was the reason for his physical appearance.
Rasco was transported back to his home, where officers Jeff Bates and Alan Eddins were speaking with the man’s wife.
The woman told police her husband became angry when he thought she was searching for information about him on the Internet. The suspect reportedly threatened to leave during the argument, but when the woman wouldn’t give him the car keys Rasco threw the woman down and began to choke her. The wife then claimed her husband started to hit himself in the eye with his own fist. Rasco’s wife said he then started throwing items on the floor, causing a piece of glass to break and go into the woman’s eye. After that Rasco left the home.
