Beating suspect found hiding in attic

Marcus Lusk, 28, of Ennis was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly beating a man and and stealing his cell phone outside a home in the 800 block of S. Sherman Street.
Det. Sgt. Jason York said while the victim was dropping some friends off in the area, Lusk allegedly came outside screaming at the man. Lusk reportedly pulled him out of the vehicle and, wrapping a towel around his fist, started punching the victim in the face. York said when the victim fell to the ground Lusk allegedly began kicking the man, and Lusk punched the victim again in the face once the man got to his feet again, taking the man’s cell phone and going back inside the house.
York said the victim immediately drove to the Ennis Police Department to report the incident.
York said the victim suffered a black eye, broken ribs, bruising on his body and a possible cracked cheek bone.
Police were sent to the home Lusk was last seen entering, but York said Emeal Jones, 37, of Richardson denied Lusk was in the residence. A search of the home resulted in police locating Lusk hiding in the attic, and police arrested him.
Since his arrest, Corsicana police department informed local police of an additional robbery charge connected to Lusk.
