Pawnshop owner aids in BMV arrest

Travis Short, 18, and Krystal Strickland, 17, both of Ennis, were arrested Monday afternoon on burglary of a motor vehicle charges after allegedly attempting to sell a stolen vehicle diagnostic code reader.
Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson said Officer Curtis Farmer spoke with an employee at Action Pawn, who claimed Short and Strickland allegedly tried to sell the device at about 12:30 p.m. The employee allegedly said the owner of the device had called earlier claiming a device similar to the one in the suspects’ custody had been stolen out of a vehicle earlier in the day in the 300 block of E. Ennis Avenue.
