Library sign language classes bridge barriers
Ennis residents visit the Ennis Public Library to learn all kinds of things, and with a newly-formed sign language class, library-goers can now learn American Sign Language.
Larry Candy, a member of the Friends of the Ennis Public Library, learned sign language from a deaf friend in college. Now, Candy and his neighbor, Robert Gaither, have teamed up to share their knowledge of sign to members of the public twice a week. Gaither, who also learned signed language in college, leads the class.
