Battle of 16-4A Lions set for Friday in Waco

The season starts now for Lion football, as far as the crucial contests are concerned.
Ennis (2-1) hits the road on Friday to begin 16-4A play against the Waco High Lions (0-3). The maroon Lions — the 12th-ranked team in 4A — will play the remainder of the season without the receiving duo of Kyle Guinyard and Jyavon King due to injuries, but there’s too much talent on the roster to dismiss Ennis’ chances to excel.

As for last week’s overtime loss to Mesquite Horn — the 15th-ranked team in 5A, coach Sam Harrell didn’t have a hard time finding the good aspects of his team’s play.
