Lion tennis sweeps strong non-district foes in Tyler

Coming off a tough district loss to Midway last week, Lion tennis hit the road Saturday looking to get back on track.
Ennis (9-2) certainly did just that in Tyler, as it beat Lindale 10-5 and then downed Texas High 10-7. Entering Saturday’s action, Texas High was ranked No. 13 in the state.

“I’m really proud of the kids,” said coach Keith Howard.

“Corsicana also beat Texas High 10-6, so it sets up a great battle with them (today).”

It was obvious the Saturday victories also meant a lot to Lion players.

“That Midway match was very tough, but I think as a team we’re doing very good this year,” said Valeria Garza.
