8th White Lions charge past Tigers in Corsicana

Just one play into Tuesday night’s road game, it looked like the eighth grade White Lions would be in for a long night against Corsicana.
The Tigers fumbled the opening kick return, only to recover the ball at midfield and take it all the way to the end zone. Just 16 seconds into the game, Ennis (1-2) trailed 8-0 after a successful two-point kick. In actuality, it was all downhill for the Tigers from there as Ennis scored the final 20 points of the game for the victory (20-8).

“I was glad to see the guys step up,” said coach Macy Thompson.

“They wanted to play hard to win this game. I told them before we started that all I wanted to see was effort. After that first play went against us, it was great to see our players keep their heads up.”
