7th Maroon Lions bring the hammer down

The spectacular ’09 campaign continued for the seventh grade Maroon Lions on Tuesday, at the expense of visiting Duncanville Kennemer.
Ennis (5-1) scored 22 points in the first quarter and Kennemer mercifully received a running clock in the final three quarters of a 47-6 triumph for the Lions. It was all about a smorgasbord of big plays for Ennis on both sides of the ball.

“Everybody makes plays on this team,” said coach J.T. Brown.

“You don’t have to depend on one person because everybody is looking to step up. You could tell the whole day the guys were focused and ready to go.”

Despite the running clock most of the evening, Ennis still compiled 338 yards of offense and tallied nine offensive plays of 10 yards or more.
