Bulldogs host Maypearl in ’09 home finale

The Palmer Bulldogs (0-7) are still searching for their first victory, but they hope to be able to achieve success tonight when they face the Maypearl Panthers (6-2) in their last home game of the year.
Coach Ryan Roecker does not expect it to come easy, especially considering the Bulldogs are up against a quality Maypearl team.

“They have two very strong running backs,” he said. “Their quarterback is probably the best player on their team and he can also run the ball well.”

Roecker is looking for the Panther offense to run multiple formations, but expects them to run the ball more than they throw. He observed Maypearl has run a 4-3 defense most of the year and hopes it does not change from the formation, even though he believes the Panthers are good enough to do so.

“I would be nice for our center to be free and for us to face a defense that tends to have more holes in it,” said coach.
