Ferris Yellowjackets hoping to gear up for playoff run

Following a tough loss to Alvarado last week, the Ferris Yellowjackets (4-4) are preparing to travel to Kennedale to take on the undefeated Wildcats. Ferris is 1-2 in district play, while Kennedale is 3-0.
Coach Randy Barnes believes this will be a tough victory to attain, but he expects his players to rise to the occasion. The coach said last year the Yellowjacket offense was able to rack up over 500 rushing yards and running back James Hopkins accounted for over 300 of those yards in the Kennedale matchup.

“Offensively, we are going to have to control the ball,” Barnes said.
“I expect Hopkins and quarterback Ryan Kidwill to step up and have big games. Kidwill had the best game of his year last week and we need a repeat performance.”
