Recycling boosts EISD schools

Both cell phones and printer cartridges eventually outlive their usefulness, and when they do, two local schools are collecting them to be recycled and raise money for the campuses.
Through the Green School Project, both Austin and Travis elementary schools are collection sites for old cell phones and printer cartridges.

Austin Elementary has been collecting these items through the program for about four years. Different models of phones and cartridges have different monetary amounts assigned to them. Once the schools have collected a box’s worth of items, they send them to the Green School Project in return for a check.
