Lions surge late to win hoops Battle of 287, 78-66

Waxahachie made another run against Lion basketball on Friday night, but this time Ennis had the last laugh.
Earlier this month, the Lions (12-13, 6-3) dominated the Indians at home in the first half only to see Jamison Sterns lead his team all the way back for a five-point victory. On Friday in Waxahachie, the Lions led by 13 in the second quarter and yet the green team took a lead shortly after halftime. Riding the energy from a spirited Ennis crowd, however, the Lions finished the contest on a tear to win 78-66.

“Waxahachie-Ennis games were exciting way before I got here, so I just came in and joined (the rivalry),” said coach Jerry Mason.
