Clerks get pay boost

Election matters were high on the agenda of Monday’s meeting of the Ellis County Commissioners’ Court.
The commissioners approved the raising of election clerks’ salary from $8 an hour to $8.50 an hour. Elections Administrator Jane Anderson told the court that increasing the rate by 50 cents will match the state rate of pay for the 2010 primary election worker’s salary.

Anderson also presented the early voting schedule for the Democratic and Republican run-off primary election, which was approved by the commissioners.
