Police raid home near Carver ECC

An early morning raid Friday netted a suspect accused of dealing crack-cocaine less than 600 feet from Carver Early Childhood Center.
Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, Ennis Police Department spokesman, said the department conducted the raid after a month-long investigation into the activities of Ronnie Joe Kidd, 32. He said the home, at 706 E. Tyler St., was being used as a base of operations for Kidd’s alleged drug dealing activities — a base he set up after a previous arrest for drug distribution in Ennis.

Police obtained warrants for Kidd’s home and vehicle this week and executed the raid before sunup Friday. Hopson said the suspect’s yellow Chevy Corvette was being used as a drug shuttle for home deliveries.
