Lion soccer completes sweep of Waxahachie

Lion soccer was better than the Indians in Waxahachie earlier this month, so why couldn’t Ennis repeat the feat on its home turf?
The Lions (9-7-2, 4-2) did in fact down the green team 1-0 for a second time on Friday to strengthen their playoff position.

“Getting the sweep over Waxahachie is definitely something to be proud of,” said coach Alex Rendon. “It’s a natural rivalry and one where everybody will perk up whether they like soccer or not. They’ll say ‘Ennis vs. Waxahachie’ and want to know who won in any sport. Plus, we shut them out in the process.”

Although Juan Patlan put a shot on goal via a free kick minutes into the action, the Indians did surprisingly well regarding field position for the first 25 minutes against the wind.
