‘Mission: Ennis’ finds new niche

The group behind 2009’s Feed the Children campaign in Ennis has evolved, expanding its plans to include quarterly projects to benefit the community.
Bridge Builders “Mission: Ennis,” an organization comprised of the church, civic and community leaders behind last fall’s project, introduced its plan for a summer benefit this year called “Give a Kid a Chance” on Thursday.

The nonprofit is teaming with New Hope Church of Ennis, which last year held the first “Give a Kid a Chance” event in Ennis. The goal is to outfit children of needy families with the gear necessary to start school on the right foot, and carrying out the project on the scale Bridge Builders is eyeing for August is going to take a lot of volunteers.
