Lions grind out district victory over Corsicana

One thing’s for sure, Lion baseball doesn’t flinch in the face of a close ballgame.
Ennis (10-4-1, 4-0) won its third straight district game by a single run on Tuesday against the visiting Corsicana Tigers, 3-2. The two strongest foes in 16-4A are next up on the slate, but the Lions are riding high right now.

“The fact we’re sitting at 4-0 is the most important thing to take from this game,” said coach Kevin Kalinec. “Midway is 3-1, and nobody else has less than two losses. We’re where we want to be and we control our own destiny, but it’s not going to be an easy road. We’ve got two really tough ones (against Midway and Midlothian) coming up.”
