Lion tennis swings away in Midway tournament

On Friday, Lion tennis hit the road to compete in the Mike Nesbit Invitational — a tournament put on by Hewitt Midway.
With Midway being a quality team year in and year out, not surprisingly its tournament had a strong competitive field.

“This was right up there behind the McKinney Tournament as one of the toughest we’ve played this season,” said coach Keith Howard. “It was well-run with good teams, but it was spread out over several sites so the kids were on their own in some cases. It will be easier to coach our players at district, considering it’s all held at one site.”

The Lions finished ninth out of 16 teams.
