Lady Lions trample Trojan softball with late tear

Through three innings, Lady Lion softball wasn’t where it wanted to be on Tuesday night in Waco, but by game’s end everything had fallen into place for the maroon team.
Ennis (20-8, 5-2) trailed 4-1 through three innings against the Waco University Trojans, but exploded on a 10-0 spurt from there for an 11-4 victory. The Lady Lions tallied more hits (15-9) and fewer errors (0-4) to finish their last district game of the first round on a good note.

“Waco U is an improved team from last season,” said coach Rodney McNeill. “They came out ready to go and swung the bat well early on, similar to the Midlothian game (last Friday). They haven’t won a district game, but they’ve kept most games close — at least for the majority of the game.”
