Charges still pending in murder

heriff’s deputies have warrants against the three adult suspects implicated in this week’s murder of Garrett gas station owner Mohammed Hashemi, but were still conferring with prosecutors today before filing charges.
Lt. Jason Westmoreland, criminal investigations division head for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, said today that capital murder charges could be filed as early as this afternoon, but due diligence in researching and investigating the case requires extensive meetings with the Ellis County District Attorney’s office before formal filing.

“We are going to file them,” he said. “I have a meeting to discuss all of this with the chief felony prosecutor today. Out of some of the cases we’ve had, I think this is a pretty stout one.”
